"I Miss You"

SA APRA Country song of the year (placing)

The words sound like it is written to a friend and I guess in a way it is. But when I wrote these lyrics, I wrote them from the pespecitive of when you see yourself after a long time.  After you haven't really "seen" yourself, when you were just existing. Before you knew it you had forgotten who you are, what lights you up and gives you your sparkle, a washed out version of who you used to be. It is a song about trying to call yourself back to your essence.

I Miss You

(Writers: Mark Drilling-Music / Jessie Che-Lyrics)

Verse

You know I never thought you’d loose it

How you always were the one

Moving free to your own music

And your own drum

Where is the fun?

Verse

Of the summers long ago

When we’d laugh and run and play

Now your beautiful bright colours

Are shades of grey

So now you are for sale?

Chorus

I hold you close, you slip away

Disappear more every day

I miss you, I miss you

Hold tight and quietly say as you

Disappear more every day

I miss you, I miss you….yeah….. yeah…..

Verse

If I took you to the places

That we used to love back then

With some warmth and happy faces

Could my friend, come back to life again?

Chorus

I hold you close, you slip away

Disappear more every day

I miss you, I miss you

Hold tight and quietly say as you

Disappear more every day

I miss you, I miss you…yeah…..

Instrumental

repeated chorus to end

I hold you close, you slip away

Disappear more every day

I miss you, I miss you

Hold tight and quietly say as you

Disappear more every day

I miss you and how I miss you

I hold you strong, but your gone

Memory goes on and one I miss you, I miss you

Hold tight and quietly say as you

Disappear more every day

I miss you, I miss you…yeah…..
